Heavy truck accident A24 in Germany – 150 piglets died.

In case of accident of a livestock transporter 150 pigs died on the highway 24 in Parchim in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The passenger of the truck was doing slightly injured on Wednesday evening, police said. The van had moved away from initially unknown reasons to the right of the roadway and then overturned. According to the police sources were 400 pigs in the transporter. The survivors were therefore transported to a replacement vehicle. The A24 was closed during the night in the direction of Berlin until the wee hours. Of the pigs located in Transporter are 150 dead at the accident site. The remaining pigs were transhipped in a replacement vehicle. An employee of the Veterinary Office is at the accident site and monitors the handling of the animals.
